SANTA AND THE RECESSION

Tis the season for holiday cheer but lots of parents are feeling the pinch this year. Some are still unemployed so for them today was somewhat uneventful.

They don’t know when they’ll find another job so the thought of spending hundreds of dollars on the latest gadgets will have to be left at just that, a thought.

Some may have used their credit cards to buy a few gifts for their children and they’ll brace themselves for the credit card statement next month.

Then there are the lucky few, the ones that have just landed a new job but they have to use their paychecks to play catch up on their over due bills.

They may not have a lot of gifts under the tree but they do have the comfort of knowing that after Christmas they will have a job to come back to.

News reports are showing people flocking to the malls as well as specialty stores as if they don't have a care in the world. It's as if money is no object. Should we believe what we see or is it the media trying to make the American public feel better ? I think it's 50/50.

Merry Christmas to everyone, including your families and I hope today will bring  you joy and happiness!
